August 2018 Recap

Still a bit of a crazy month for August! Seemed to be the month for birthdays and the husband and I have felt so gogogo there hasn’t been much time for relaxing. We’re still settling into the new house (and avoiding those hard to unpack boxes…) though have made it down to the beach to see some gorgeous sunsets! and had so many cold rainy days it’s been amazing to have the fire going…

Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson – love love love so far but I am a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson; his Mistborn series is excellent and I’ve literally had to buy a few times as we keep lending it out!

Castle Rock – I am loving this series so far! A bit dark and twisty, it’s been great to tide me over while everything else is on break for American summer… and the perfect watch for a dark and rainy NZ winter!

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before – The Netflix movie was perfect timing for a re-read! Such a cute and refreshing YA novel. Just a sweet story and hopefully fans have been happy with the screen adaptation. Check out my review here.

Crazy Rich Asians – LOVED it. So fun! And happy it’s hit number one around the world. One of my fav’s I read in August in anticipation. Check out my review here.

Sharp Objects – So happy with how the series is going so far! Can’t wait to binge the rest this week. Check out my review here.

Lethal White by Robert Galbraith
I’ve really enjoyed JK Rowling’s other series so far and while I don’t find them amazing they are a really nice easy read you can definitely rely on to entertain.

Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty
A big fan since Big Little Lies and the premise of this one sounds really interesting!

Transcription by Kate Atkinson
Life After Life is one of my top 10 books – I absolutely loved it and its sequel A God in Ruins so really looking forward to her new release!

The 7 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
This one sounds so interesting! I’m the most excited about its release

I’d Rather Be Reading by Anne Bogel
By book blogger Modern Mrs. Darcy (who if you don’t follow you should, she is amazing), this one looks so pretty and yes, I would always rather be reading

Tell me what you’re most looking forward to in September!
